People Logan Westmoreland Logan began her teaching career at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina, where she taught Leadership and Therapeutic Recreation classes. For the next three years she taught at Plymouth State University in the Outdoor Education Department. At that time she also worked for the court system providing in home family counseling to court appointed families. For the past five years she has been working for Thompson Island Outward Bound where most recently she was the Principle of the Expeditionary Learning Middle School on Thompson Island. Logan has been leading backpacking, canoeing and climbing trips with students of all ages throughout her career. She is passionate about education and believes that students achieve the most when they can directly transfer what they have learned experientially back into their everyday lives at school, at home and in their community. Logan enjoys finding new places to hike with her dog Abbey, backpacking, climbing and telemark skiing.
